What
is the essence of InnerSpect “Weight Release & Body Image” Coaching?
The essence of InnerSpect is simply to become conscious
about and to create more awareness surrounding the topic of
food and weight release. There is nothing wrong with anyone.
Every one of us is whole and complete as they are and sometimes
this is temporarily forgotten. No one needs fixing. You eat
what you eat to support yourself. This concept works whether
one is over, under, or at an ideal weight. The idea of InnerSpect "Weight
Release" Coaching is to begin to make an inner shift to support
our Ideal Scene of how we want to
look/be outwardly.

Do you provide your coaching in person or can we work together over the phone?
InnerSpect has found that phone coaching is quite effective and arrangements can also be made for in person, one-on-one coaching (subject to additional travel costs) if preferred.

I’ve
not had any or I’ve only had limited success releasing weight
using any method out there. I am so discouraged. Why would working
with InnerSpect be different?
My guess is that the underlying challenges around why you weigh what you weigh have never been consciously addressed. For example, do you have a little voice that says as the food is going in your mouth that it might not be the best choice? Do you completely ignore it? Have you gone to a weight release clinic (Jenny Craig®, Weight Watchers®, etc.) and released a significant amount of weight only to regain it back? Do you eternally have that last 10 lbs. to release and then you are done?
Remember, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing
over and over, expecting a different result. InnerSpect's approach
is different in that it helps to keep you continually aware
to be continually mindful. InnerSpect helps to raise
your consciousness through simple awareness on these
topics. You are doing something completely different this time.
So you may or may not have had success in the past. The key
here to recognize is that it is "in the
past." It is
my experience that the actual physical level has more to do
with commitment to Self than it does in whatever weight release
program you are utilizing.
It is the commitment to Self that is going to reconcile this
issue for the last time whether you are on the goal
line or the learning
line. It makes less difference which physical way you release
the weight.
Please note that InnerSpect "Weight Release & Body Image" Coaching encourages releasing weight in a way that is self-nurturing and self-supporting. InnerSpect "Weight Release & Body Image" Coaching does not work with those who are suffering from serious food disorders or medical conditions. Seeing your doctor about these conditions as well as seeking therapy is highly recommended. InnerSpect "Weight Release & Body Image" Coaching is not a substitute for counseling or therapy.

Can
I get more specifics on what we do if I choose to work with InnerSpect?
I work with clients either in person or over the phone on a weekly basis (minimum) with the intention of raising awareness on the topic of food and/or weight release. We do everything in what I call "3-foot tosses." What this means is that we set up steps together so that what you will be doing will be easily accomplished. This is a set up for success!
In beginning sessions, there is more of a focus on establishing what goals the client is looking for in our working together, which I refer to as an Ideal Scene. Often, clients who come to me have not even considered why they want to lose weight. Often the answer I come across is, "because I think I should " or "because my doctor told me I should ." With InnerSpect, we get very clear on the why and work with activities specifically designed to raise awareness and create action-oriented steps that help clients move forward toward their Ideal Scene. Our time spent together is defined by working together until the Ideal Scene has been manifested.

What is a general time frame that I'll be working with InnerSpect?
InnerSpect's suggestion is to commit to a minimum of six months,
stressing minimum. You are working on the physical element
of your weight release elsewhere and that will take as long
as it takes. We work together to manifest your Ideal
Scene which we begin clarifying in your
Discovery Session. This often gets modified over time, too.
For example, for your Ideal Scene, you would like to do or
accomplish X, Y, & Z
where X might look like feeling comfortable in shorts, Y might
look like something else, and Z might look like, "and maintain
this for at least a year." InnerSpect
is not only concerned with results - it is also concerned with
maintaining the results. Sometimes this can even be the more
challenging!

What do you mean I don’t have to do anything to release weight?
My approach is to facilitate clients in helping themselves. I don't tell my clients what to do. I firmly believe that everyone has the inner resources necessary to effectively deal with their situation. I facilitate the client taking responsibility for the issue(s) that brought them to seek weight release coaching and we work together in establishing more self-supporting and self-nurturing choices. I firmly believe that you have everything it takes inside of you right now to handle this. While being held accountable for moving forward, the idea is that the client begins choosing things in their life that are more self-supportive and more self-nurturing which in turn, moves the client toward their Ideal Scene. Commitment to Self (Your-Self) will help move you in the direction of your Ideal Scene. The choice is completely up to you.

I
have been diagnosed with diabetes. Will InnerSpect work with
me?
InnerSpect does not work with those who have serious
medical conditions, including diabetes at this time.

have been diagnosed anorexic and/or bulimic. Will InnerSpect
work with me?
InnerSpect does not work with clients at this time that are
working to heal eating disorders (anorexia and/or bulimia,
etc.) Addressing these disorders require formal counseling
and are not within the scope of innerSpect "Weight Release & Body Image" Coaching.

How would you
recommend I go about bringing up the subject of working with
you to a loved one?
My experience has led me to believe that what I share has
more to do with the energy, or intent, behind it than it
does necessarily with the words. Yes, words are important too,
and if you share your loving with another, the essence is you
are sharing loving. One suggestion for your consideration is
to inwardly connect to the loving place inside of you right
before you share your heart and also connect to the loving
place inside of the one with which you want to share. Remember,
no one needs fixing and this can be a very sensitive subject.
Feel free to contact InnerSpect if
you would like some specific coaching on how you might approach
them.
- Center yourself in your heart first, before you even begin speaking to your loved one or friend.
- It's not so much the actual words you share (they help of course) but more from the place inside from which you share them.
- No advice giving! Don't tell them what you think they "should" to be doing, i.e., losing weight, exercising more, etc. as opposed to what they are doing now.
- Encourage and share from a place of loving.
- Mention or invite them to join our bi-monthly newsletter Food For Thought which offers a new way to look at the process of releasing weight. What
can InnerSpect leave me with while I decide whether to work with
you?
Whether or not you know, you are all ready on your own weight
release journey, right now. Whether or not you decide
to work with me, just by your reading this website, you have
already raised your awareness on the topic of weight release
within your Self.
It has been my experience that working on the physical weight is only one of the factors in releasing weight. As long as it's a self-supporting choice, the physical method (Jenny Craig®, Weight Watchers®, etc.) is almost immaterial. Regular physical activity is recommended with any method.

TERMINOLOGY
You say that InnerSpect takes
a Spiritual Approach to weight release. What do you mean
by that?
Often times spirituality is paired with religious
affiliation and that is not always the case. Thus far the best
definition that InnerSpect has come across comes from a man
named John-Roger who says, "On
one level it's extremely difficult to define spirituality...
On another level, however, it's simple: to be spiritual is
just to be, to allow other people freedom, to take freedom
for yourself, to neither inflict nor allow infliction..."
InnerSpect
looks at one's weight release journey from a Spiritual perspective.
Using the above definition, we look at our weight release
journey from a place of being with it. By that I mean that
we strive to obtain the altitude to look at excess weight
objectively and neutrally with the intention of learning
from it instead of coming from a place of judgment.
What
is the “Goal Line” you refer to?
The Goal Line is a state of beingness. It refers to an intention
or focus with an inner knowing that weight release is a process
and not an event. It is a journey. It is a state of beingness
when all parts of you are in alignment. All the 3-foot tosses
created are being done easily and on time. Agreements and commitments
are kept. Very few or no issues are present. Things generally
seem to be in alignment and are progressing towards your Ideal.
You consciously take a learning orientation to weight release,
recognize that you may jump on the Learning
Line from time to time, and you fully trust the process.

What
is the “Learning Line” you refer to?
The Learning Line is very contrary to the Goal
Line. It is a time when perhaps you have forgotten that
nothing needs fixing and that you are already doing everything
to support yourself. It might be a time when you are less
aware or conscious of what is going on in your weight release
journey. It could be a time where all your food and weight
issues are present for you. It can be a time where you might
be thinking of the past or future instead of acknowledging
what is present right now. It might be a time where it seems
like nothing is working and you are doomed to failure forever
and ever (and ever). Often times most of us aren't even aware
that we are on the Learning Line when we are on the Learning
Line.

What
is an “Ideal Scene”?
An Ideal Scene could be defined as an idea or a way of being
in its absolute perfection.
If this idea were true, it could not be improved upon. It's
the ultimate purpose, ambition, or endeavor one could ever
possibly hope to achieve. Said another way, if you could have
something any way you chose for it to exist, how would you
make that (your
dream or goal) perfect in your mind's eye so that it could
not possibly be improved upon? This concept is the Ideal Scene.

What
is a “Living Vision”?
A Living Vision starts with the type of vision Webster® defines as "the ability to perceive something not actually visible, as through mental acuteness or keen foresight." It is more extensive than merely wishing for something. It is deeper than simply wanting more. It is the ability to envision a desirable future with such clarity you can see plainly the steps you must take to get there. It is the visual form of an Ideal Scene, which uses colorful "I" languaging so that one can actually begin to see oneself experiencing the Ideal Scene as if it were actually happening or were to be true now . It is this "as if" quality that brings the Living Vision alive.
A well-defined and succinctly articulated Living Vision using "I" languaging helps in many ways:
- It provides a yard marker for success.
- It provides a target for focus.
- It provides a huddle for inner teamwork.
- It provides a horizon for purpose.

PHILOSOPHY OF INNERSPECT
How did you come up with the name InnerSpect “Weight Release & Body Image” Coaching?
The Merriam-Webster® dictionary defines “Inner” as “of or relating to the mind, body, or spirit.”
“Spect” comes from the word “Spectator”
which is defined by Merriam-Webster® as “one who looks
on or watches.”
So, InnerSpect “Weight Release & Body Image” Coaching is taking
a look at our mind, body, and spirit with regards to weight
release.

Why do you refer to weight
loss, weight reduction, and/or weight management as "weight release"?
To InnerSpect, weight loss has an immediate negative connotation to it, as does
weight management. We're talking subtle levels here, but if you are going on a diet,
that's spelled 'die' with the letter 't' tacked onto the end of it. Take the phrase
'weight loss' - some part of you on some level thinks that by venturing in this area,
you are going to lose a part of yourself. Can that be part of the sabotage? Absolutely.
Now let's talk about the phrase 'weight reduction.' It's fairly neutral and at the
same time it is nothing to get excited about.
If you lose something very precious
and dear to you, what do you generally do? You go and
try to find it! Before I switched wedding rings (because
I had released so much weight), one day unbeknownst
to me it had slipped off of my finger without my realizing!
As you can imagine, I went into a slight panic. I
desperately tried to find it again, which after some
frantic searching for it, thankfully I did. Generally
when we lose something, we try to go and find it again.

Lastly, I invite you to take a moment and inwardly check inside yourself. How does
'weight release' sound or feel to you? InnerSpect facilitates releasing weight that
is no longer needed. It also speaks about choice. For example, "I choose to release
weight I no longer need to carry around as armor." It is very empowering.
InnerSpect specifically works with this word level in order to get as much inner
cooperation as we can muster while you move forward on your own weight release journey.

Why do I get charged if I
miss an appointment without letting you know?
Our consultations work best when they are given a high priority
in your life and you make a point of attending our sessions together,
undisturbed by spouses, children, or anyone. This is your time.
Part of what we do as we work together is increase the
impeccability of our word. More succinctly, we're working towards
putting deposits in our 'kept agreements' bank. Sure, things
do come up. And, what did you make more important than keeping
your word?
If you must
cancel an appointment, please call or contact InnerSpect at
least 24 hours in advance. This courtesy may give time to schedule
another appointment during your session. If you give InnerSpect
less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged $50. If you
do not notify InnerSpect at all, you will be charged for
a full appointment based on the tiered package you have chosen.

Can I sponsor
someone and/or do you provide gift certificates?
Absolutely! If you know someone who is already releasing weight,
this can be such an additional support for them! Please contact
InnerSpect directly for more specialized packages or gift certificates.

Why can't I click on your
email address to contact you like most websites?
InnerSpect takes spam seriously and there are computer programs
out there that just scrounge for email address's to then sell
on. We do our best to reduce the level of spam that is received.
One nifty way to reduce this is to not make an email address
